about us

Ball Side Goal Side was created by coaching colleagues, Eric Dobrzanski and Ed Heberling, to promote coaching education through an interactive and entertaining format. With the goal of putting coaches in a better position to effectively direct, lead, and navigate the profession Eric & Ed look to interview coaches, directors, players, and other stakeholders to progress and improve coaching at all levels of play.

THE HOSTS

Eric Dobrzanski currently serves as the assistant soccer coach at Florida International University while completing his PhD from the University of the Cumberlands and his Grassroots Instructor Certification through USSF. Dobrzanski has coached youth, club, and college soccer and served as the Cayman Islands U20 national team coach. He can also be found calling USL and Open Cup matches for ESPN.

Ed Heberling, a 22 year coaching veteran, has experience at the high school, club, and collegiate level as a player and coach. Heberling currently serves as the head women's coach at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD and resides in Silver Spring with his wife, Laura, and two sons, Hollis and Hayes.
